Does the Avia Smartlock support NFC (Near Field Communication) or RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) to connect to my mobile device?
The Avia Smartlock supports Bluetooth technology to connect to your mobile device when being operated locally. The Smartlock does not support NFC or RFID. Please note, that the Deadbolt+ which is available in the USA does support NFC. Learn more.
Can I still open my door manually with my physical key?
We supply you with a new high security cylinder which must be used with the Avia lock. Once you have fitted it, you can use a key (3 keys provided) in the normal way.
Can I use the lock outside?
The lock is designed to be as secure as possible and is only suitable to be ‘housed’ internally on an external door. The lock is not weatherproof and should not be used outside (garden gates etc).
Is the lock weatherproofed?
The lock is designed to be ‘housed’ inside the external door and so has no need to be weatherproofed. However, it has an IP54 rating which protects against liquid spray and solid objects.
